Description

Just duplicating this issue from EC-Earth portal, AerChemMIP output mostly related to that. So the problem is that hour 0 of a new run is calculated in the previous run. For ec550aer output this is an instantaneous and can be read in from the restart file. As you can see in this figure showing the ec550aer for lowest 4 model levels where I have highlighted the last and first step.

There we cannot see any jump in the output between the runs, so the implementation of reading in the restart and calculating the optics for those variables gives reasonable extinction. This is being fixed in fix-6hr-hr-output branch r1048. Code still needs a bit of refactoring.
