Description

I have introduced an option to let the CO2 mixing ratio change follow the CMIP6 time series for the historical period (until 2014). This is relevant for aqueous-phase chemistry, where the global annual mean CO2 mixing ratio is used to calculate the pH of the cloud droplets. Before a constant value for the year 2000 was used. The latter is still possible, but is no longer recommended.

The following flags were introduced in the rc-file:

input.conc.co2.cmip6 : T
input.conc.co2.cmip6.dir : <directory containing the files with CMIP6 global annual mean mixing ratios>

input.co2.fixyear : F
input.co2.year : <year>

When input.conc.co2.cmip6 is switched on, the CMIP6 time series is used.

The future scenarios need to be added, once they become available.

The file containing the historical global annual mean CO2 mixing ratios is called

mole_fraction_of_carbon_dioxide_in_air_input4MIPs_GHGConcentrations_CMIP_UoM-CMIP-1-2-0_gr1-GMNHSH_0000-2014.nc

and is available from

ec:nks/CMIP6_CO2/

or

/perm/ms/nl/nks/TM5_INPUT/boundary/CMIP6/CO2/

I have added the future scenario data for SSP3-7.0 and SSP3-7.0-LowNTCF, which will be run for CMIP6 as part of ScenarioMIP and AerChemMIP.
